His sudden death has left family, friends, and fellow choir members deeply shocked and heartbroken. Ben was a talented and devoted musician, known for his exceptional singing and self-taught skills as an organist.
Many first encountered his gift at Beards Hollow Church, where he faithfully played the historic pump organ each August, bringing life and joy to the congregation. Over the years, he served multiple local churches as an organist and pianist, sharing his musical talents and warm spirit with everyone around him.
His dedication to music and his gentle, kind demeanor enriched not only the choir but the wider community. In addition to his musical contributions, Ben’s life was marked by deep faith and service.
Just prior to his passing, he was certified as a Lay Minister, a role that reflected his commitment to proclaiming the Word of God and serving others. Those who knew him admired his humility, devotion, and the sincerity of his spiritual journey.
Ben’s family, friends, and the Schoharie Valley Singers take comfort in the promise of the Gospel, remembering his love for Jesus and the hope of resurrection.
